Participant Information for Focus Groups on Plant- Based Eating Communications
Thank you for your interest in sharing your views on plant-based eating and how this is best communicated. The purpose of this research is to understand the perspectives of UK based registered dietitians and nutritionists on how plant-based eating should be communicated within healthcare. This is a collaborative project being conducted by Plant Based Health Professionals UK, MyNutriWeb and Framing Matters.
The results will be used to develop engaging and motivating storytelling, whilst providing a clear route to implementation with the use of relevant resources and toolkits, all relevant to healthcare i.e. in UK hospitals and professional bodies and organisations implementing plant-based catering.
Participation involves completing screening questions below. Data on ZoHo which is GDPR compliant. These details will be used to check eligibility and match you with other participants into an appropriate group. If you are suitably matched, you will be invited to join a Focus Group online with other registered dietitians or nutritionists. You will take part in a discussion, guided by a facilitator following a topic guide of questions. The aim is for an open dialogue for new ideas and perspectives to be raised. It will last around 2 hours. Each person will be identified by a number so that your responses are anonymous. No identifying data will be collected.
This research is recorded. Why is this research being recorded? The interview will be audio and video recorded using the meeting software Teams to make sure that the researcher accurately remembers all the information you provide. The footage we gather from the interview may be used in future research presentations by MyNutriWeb and Plant Based Health Professionals UK. It will not be shared publicly with personally identifying information.
If you do not wish to be recorded, you should not participate.
Your participation is voluntary. We ask that you kindly participate in the Focus Group meeting in your own time, and not during your NHS or company working hours. You can withdraw from the research at any time until completion of the Focus Group, at which point data analysis will commence. On completion of the Focus Group discussion, MyNutriWeb will offer you a gift voucher from love2shop to the value of £100. This will be issued to you within 2 weeks of completing the focus groups.
Any identifying data disclosed during the discussion will be redacted prior to analysis. Your data will be anonymised; your name will not be used in any reports or publications resulting from the study.
The anonymised data will be stored electronically on password protected DropBox account at MyNutriWeb for 5 years after the study concludes. Access will be limited to XXXX and only if an audit is required, the MyNutriWeb community manager.
