CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES:
During the coronavirus pandemic, interest in nutrition for immunity has increased. Whilst diet and lifestyle choices are key modifiable risk factors that can affect immunity, there has been a lot of conflicting and confusing information about this area in recent years. This webinar is designed to offer an update on the latest evidence on nutrition and immune function.
There is a great deal of public and commercial interest in the potential of foods or supplements to support immune function, with this interest significantly increasing in response to the covid-19 pandemic.
The gut microbiome is also modified by both diet and lifestyle factors and has both direct and indirect interactions with our immune system. Whilst no food, nutrient or product can stop us getting ill, a healthy, varied diet is vital in supporting our gut microbiome and immune function.
In this webinar, Dr Caroline Childs, will share an update on the latest information on the effect of diet and lifestyle on the immune system with a focus on gut health. Addressing some of the common myths and misconceptions we hear about nutrition and immunity.
This webinar will also be chaired by leading immunologist, Dr Jenna Macciochi.
