MyNutriKitchen Cookery Demo

A low FODMAP diet can help to manage irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) symptoms – but keeping the overall diet balanced and healthy while following it can be tricky. This session is designed to help you support patients and clients overcome the barriers.

When first examining the food lists for the low FODMAP diet it can be daunting for patients and clients. Many wonder how to cook tasty and healthy food – especially when base flavours such as onion and garlic are excluded. Indeed, a common misconception is that the diet lacks flavour… but that doesn’t have to be the case! There are plenty of ways to balance flavour in cooking to make simple, delicious and healthy FODMAP friendly meals.

For this MyNutriKitchen session we’ll be joined by award-winning IBS researcher and clinical dietitian Dr Bridgette Wilson, alongside chef Leon Rothera. They’ll be showcasing how a low FODMAP diet can be tasty and nutritionally balanced.

The session will cover:
• Nutrients to play close attention to on a low FODMAP diet, such as fibre
• Simple cooking tips and flavour combinations to make meals tasty
• How to balance a plant-based low FODMAP meal

Bridgette and Leon will be demonstrating two delicious plant-based recipes, alongside practical tips to help you to support clients and patients to overcome barriers to the low FODMAP diet.

There will also be the chance to put your questions to Bridgette and Leon in the extended Q&A session.
