CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
With increasing digital literacy, there are more ways than ever to find out about diet and cancer. This webinar will go through common myths such as those around sugar and soy, why they exist and (the lack of) evidence behind them, whilst highlighting the need to be able to separate fact from fiction when it comes to cancer. We will also share World Cancer Research Fund’s (WCRF) cancer prevention recommendations.
Did you know that over a quarter of those living with and beyond cancer follow or have tried alternative, unproven dietary strategies? And 56% of individuals surveyed have said they are confused by the seemingly conflicting nutritional information available in the media.
This webinar will cover the most common dietary myths associated with cancer to provide you with the very latest evidence to help support patients and clients with credible, evidence-based information on diet and cancer.
We’ll cover:
- Why unsubstantiated dietary information can be attractive to cancer patients
- The common myths about nutrition and cancer
- Potential risks of dietary myths regarding cancer
- World Cancer Research Fund’s Cancer Prevention Recommendations and credible resources
We’re also joined by World Cancer Research Fund’s Senior Research Interpretation Officer, Sarah Kefyalew, to chair and guide discussions during the session.
