CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Irritable Bowel Syndrome (IBS) affects approximately one in 20 people in the UK and can significantly decrease a person’s quality of life as it can be hard to diagnose and treat.
One increasingly-explored option is the low FODMAP diet – an evidence-based dietary management strategy for IBS. But it can be complex and restrictive if not followed properly or for longer than needed so correct support and guidance from a health professional is necessary.
In this webinar, we’re joined by award-winning IBS researcher Dr Bridgette Wilson to shine the spotlight on the science behind the low FODMAP diet, covering:
- What FODMAPs are
- How they affect the gut and cause IBS symptoms
- The evidence for using this diet to treat IBS
- Other evidence-based lifestyle changes to manage IBS symptoms, such as practicing yoga
We’ll also address whether the low FODMAP diet is the best treatment for IBS or whether we should be trying other treatment strategies first.
Also in this webinar series: Dr Bridgette Wilson and chef Leon Rothera show how to make the low FODMAP diet in IBS tasty and healthy
