CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Hot flushes, brain fog and insomnia are some of the symptoms commonly associated with the menopause. However, many women are not aware that changes in the body during the menopause increase cholesterol levels and have a negative impact on heart health. In fact, before the menopause, women are generally at a lower risk of being affected by coronary heart disease than men. But after the menopause, the risk increases for women to become the same as for men.
Positive changes to diet such as those in HEART UK’s Ultimate Cholesterol Lowering Plan© (UCLP©) can help reduce cholesterol, maintain a healthy body weight and manage other menopausal symptoms.
Coinciding with the UK’s National Cholesterol Month and World Menopause Month, this webinar explores the evidence-based UCLP© approach to lowering cholesterol levels and supporting heart health before, during and after menopause. The webinar will also present the real-life experience of a menopausal woman adopting the UCLP©.
