CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES

A lot of hype surrounds the use of fermented foods for gut health, but when it comes to the management of gut disorders are these as good as probiotic supplements? This webinar will explore the evidence behind specific strains of probiotics in the management of gut disorders such as IBS, constipation and antibiotic diarrhoea.

Gut health has become immensely popularised but how do we advise patients with specific health conditions where best to spend their money? And where can healthcare professionals find reliable information on probiotics?

Ahead of World Digestive Health Day, this webinar discusses the evidence behind specific strains of probiotics in the management of gut disorders, how they work and the role both fermented foods and supplements can play.

We’ll cover:

  • The role of probiotics in management of IBS, constipation and diarrhoea
  • The difference between genera, species and strains for probiotics
  • Evidence from individual studies and meta-analyses and why different conclusions have been drawn

We’re also joined by expert chair, Cristian Costas Batlle, to guide discussions and live Q&A.
