CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
Irritable bowel syndrome (IBS) is now recognised as a disorder of the gut-brain axis and is an extensively researched area, supported by numerous national and global medical guidelines. Despite this robust foundational knowledge, the practicalities of managing IBS patients in clinical settings present considerable complexities. This is largely due to the condition’s multifaceted nature, compounded by various barriers that clinicians frequently encounter in their practice.
Navigating the nuances of dietary interventions, psychological factors, and the integration of emerging therapies within a busy clinical setting requires a highly practical and adaptable approach.
In this webinar, we will address the latest scientific research to support IBS management and optimise patient outcomes. The focus will be on delivering holistic practical strategies that seamlessly integrate within existing clinical limitations, ensuring effective and achievable interventions.
This webinar will cover:
- The difficulties managing IBS in primary care and how to use the low FODMAP diet effectively and safely
- The gut-brain axis and its modulation as a strategy to manage IBS symptoms
- Common missed alternative diagnoses in IBS
- The role of each health professional in the care of IBS patients
