There is a clear and undeniable shift in the way society is starting to view women in sports. The victory of the Lionesses in the 2022 European Football Championships marked a newfound interest and enthusiasm for women’s team sports in the UK. Nevertheless, there remains progress to be made.

Faye Townsend
Registered Performance Nutritionist, Faye Nutrition
Faye, a Registered Nutritionist (RNutr AfN) and Performance Nutritionist (BDA SENr), founded Fuelled with Faye. She has worked for the NHS, at the Rhitrition Clinic, and now runs an online consultancy, optimising athletes performance, from beginners to elites, using evidence-based practices. Collaborating with running clubs, sports teams, and currently Women’s GB Baseball/Softball, her mission is to foster a healthy relationship with food for peak performance and health.

A renowned practitioner, Louise is Head of Sport and Exercise Nutrition at Leeds Beckett University. During her 25-year career she has worked with athletes at all levels across a range of Olympic and professional sports, as well as supporting extreme challenge record breaking attempts. She has received multiple awards in recognition of her contribution to the development of the profession.
