CONTENT AND LEARNING OBJECTIVES
There is a growing body of evidence to show that diet is not the only thing to impact gut health. Due to advances in research looking at the gut-brain axis, it is now clear that mental health can impact the gut due to the bi-directional communication of this connection. This webinar will explore the importance of considering both mental and physical factors in maintaining gut health.
Gut health issues are a global problem, and poor gut health is estimated to affect more than 40% of people worldwide. Despite the limited evidence, traditional dietary recommendations to improve functional gut disorders are still recommended but are estimated to improve only 40% of symptoms of individuals.
This webinar discusses a holistic approach that includes practices such as mindfulness and stress management in addition to a balanced diet and exercise. The aim of the approach is to achieve optimal gut health by creating a harmonious relationship between the mind and body.
We’ll cover:
- The role of the gut-brain axis in gut disorders
- Stress management practices and their impact on gut function
- The importance of a balanced lifestyle that considers both mental and physical well-being
We’re also joined by expert chair, Sophie Medlin, to guide discussions and live Q&A.
