About the Action on Salt
Action on Salt is a group of specialists working to reduce the salt intake of the UK population, to prevent deaths and suffering from heart disease, stroke, kidney disease, osteoporosis and stomach cancer.
The COVID-19 global pandemic has changed our lives in many ways, including how and where we eat. Many of us are spending more time at home and cooking from scratch, and whilst it may seem that the only way to add flavour to home-cooked meals is with a big pinch of salt, there are so many other ways to ensure your food packs a flavoursome punch! This year’s Salt Awareness Week (8–14 March), will be focussing on #MoreFlavourLessSalt, with simple tips to help kick the habit and use less salt.
About the Blood Pressure UK
Blood Pressure UK is the only UK charity dedicated to lowering the nation’s blood pressure to prevent stroke and heart disease. They raise awareness of high blood pressure to find the millions of people in the UK who don’t know they have it, and provide information and support to bring it under control. Our vision is for everyone to know their blood pressure numbers in the same way they know their height or weight and take steps to keep them healthy, both now and in the future. Go to the Blood UK website for further details including membership and plenty of resources.
